Out of hours medical
care is now the responsibility of
the Primary Care Trust
(PCT). They are in contract with
Care UK, a medical deputising
service, who
employ doctors to provide out of
hours care. Any comments/ complaints
about the out of hours service
should, therefore, be addressed to
Kate Hamson, Clinical Lead Nurse,
Care UK, 5-6 Cosgrove Way, Luton,
LU1 1XL. Their telephone number is
Luton (01582) 545619. We will of
course provide assistance in
communicating with Care UK, should
that be helpful.
When the surgery is closed, a
recorded message will give you the
number to use to contact the duty
doctor, via a medical answering
service. This service also informs
us of out of hours patient contacts.
