Dr Roger Chapman BSc MB BS
DObstRCOG FRCGP (1971 London)
- Roger
qualified at St Bartholomew’s
Hospital and joined the Practice
in 1976 having completed
vocational training in
Aylesbury. He has had a
long involvement in local and
national medical politics,
representing colleagues on both
the BMA and the Council of the
Royal College of General
Practitioners, and he has taken
a particular interest in
education, workforce and
European issues. In 2005 he
completed a 6 year appointment
as one of the officers of the
body responsible for licensing
general practitioners in the UK.
As from April 2007, Roger has
reduced his commitment in the
practice slightly and now works
6 sessions per week.
Dr John
Henderson MB BS MSc MFPHM MRCGP
(1984 London)
- John
qualified in 1984 from
University College London School
of Medicine and did his
Vocational Training here in
Leighton Buzzard.
Prior to entering general
practice John trained in Public
Health Medicine at the London
School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine and with North Thames
Region Health Authority where he
was Senior Registrar in Public
Health. He is lead GP in
prescribing within the Practice
and is also a GP Trainer on the
Aylesbury scheme. He has a
specialist interest in
dermatology and works at Stoke
Mandeville Hospital as a
clinical assistant to the
dermatology department every
Friday afternoon.
Dr Mary Horkan
BSc MBBS MRCGP DRCOG (1994 London)
- Mary trained
at St Georges Medical School,
London and qualified in 1994.
She completed her vocational
training scheme in Epsom. She
joined the practice in January
2000. She is the practice
diabetic lead and also practice
clinical governance lead. She is
also involved with medical
student and postgraduate general
practice training.
Dr Rosalyn Lucy
MB ChB MRCGP (1989 Sheffield)
- Ros qualified
in Sheffield in 1989. Having
worked as a partner elsewhere in
the town for some years, she
joined the practice in April
2002 under the Retainer Scheme,
working 4 sessions per week. She
is currently working as a part
time partner at Bassett Road two
days a week. She has a
specialist interest in mental
health and infant massage.
Dr Nasir Jamal
MB BS MD DFFP (1982 Aligarh Muslim)
- After
graduation in 1983 Nasir worked
in the Institute of
Ophthalmology, Aligarh
University, India and was
awarded his Masters Degree in
Ophthalmology in 1986. He then
worked as a lecturer in the
Institute of Ophthalmology where
he was involved in teaching,
training and research. He
qualified as a General
Practitioner within Oxford
region in 2002. He became a
partner at Bassett Road in 2003.
He still retains an interest in
managing eye diseases. He also
has a special interest in
coronary heart disease (CHD) and
is the CHD lead for the
practice.
Dr Claire
Stewart MB BS BMedSci DFFP DRCOG
MRCGP (2000 London)
- Claire
graduated from St. Marys, London
in 2000. She then worked at
Hemel Hempstead hospital for a
year and then commenced her
General Practice training on the
Aylesbury scheme. She completed
her training here in 2004 when
she became a partner. She has a
specialist interest in
gynaecology. She fits the
majority of the intrauterine
contraceptive devices in the
surgery. She is taking an
increasing role in postgraduate
training.
